5 Jewellery Styling Tips You Need to Know

21st March 2025

Jewellery is a great way of elevating your outfit. Regardless of your style, or the type of material you prefer, jewellery not only gives your outfit the edge but also reflects your personality and taste. However, there are ways of wearing and styling jewellery which can add sophistication to your outfit, regardless of whether it’s day or night. In this article, we’ll be giving you some tips for styling jewellery that will make the ultimate statement, without deviating from your personal preferences. Here are our tips for styling jewellery that you need to know about:

1. Find your personal style

Something you need to make sure you’re doing is choosing to wear jewellery that suits your tastes and overall style. Don’t be tempted to buy or wear pieces of jewellery that aren’t suited to you, individually, just because everyone else is wearing it or to adorn a certain brand. When it comes to jewellery, unique, beautiful items, such as the pieces we have available here at Little Star Jewellery, often provide the customer with everything they’re looking for, and more.

In addition, Little Star Jewellery is pleased to offer a free engraving service, making our jewellery pieces even more personable and bespoke when compared to mass-produced jewellery items that are on the market. These innovative pieces will help you to find your own style. From a mixture of metals to pearls and everything in between, we will have a piece of jewellery in our collection that will seamlessly suit your individual style.

2. Consider layering your bracelets

Bracelets and bangles are often worn on their own, with no other bangle or bracelet being incorporated alongside them. But while this is a dainty-yet-eye-catching way of adorning a bracelet or bangle, you may not have thought about the idea of layering the bracelets and bangles you have. There are some rules to follow here, however. The first thing is to refrain from layering many bracelets or brangles together. Instead, stick to three or four, at the most, and think about mixing the different coloured metals together.

Have some silver and rose gold mixed in with yellow gold pieces for an interesting look. This way, you’ll have complete freedom should you want to wear other items of jewellery, such as if you wear a wedding band or engagement ring. Little Star Jewellery has a complete range of gorgeous bangles and bracelets for you to choose from, including yellow gold, rose gold and sterling silver. Take a look through our extraordinary selection if you want to make a statement with layered bracelets and bangles.

3. Think about balance

When it comes to wearing jewellery, you need to consider the balance. For example, it would make the outfit look heavy if you had a turtle neck jumper on, with some statement drop earrings, a necklace with a large pendant on it and some layered bracelets on both arms. The outfit will then look top-heavy. Think about balancing out the jewellery you’re wearing.

For example, if you’re wearing a turtle neck jumper, consider instead wearing stud earrings, a dainty necklace and one bracelet on one arm only. If you were wearing a scoop-neck or a v-neck top, then you could wear a necklace with a larger pendant but still choose stud earrings so as not to make the outfit appear heavy. Balance out larger, heavier and more decorative jewellery items with simple, classic pieces to keep the look sophisticated and stylish.

4. Be occasion-appropriate with your styling choices

Just as you’d choose an outfit based on the occasion, you should choose your jewellery pieces based on the occasion also. For instance, if you were attending a black tie event, you wouldn’t choose to wear our Bryony Sterling Silver Ranibow Locket. You would, instead, choose something more dainty and classic, such as our India Necklace or our Vivian Mother of Pearl Locket, for instance. However, if you were attending a festival or a birthday party, then the rainbow necklace we just talked about would be more appropriate than the India or Vivian necklaces. Think carefully about the event you’re going to before deciding on the jewellery items to wear.

5. Mix & match to give your outfit the edge when styling

Mixing different metals is a current trend that shows no signs of bucking. As such, the industry has been coming up with brand-new designs that encompass yellow gold, rose gold and silver all in one piece. This is something we have made provisions for here at Little Star Jewellery. As well as triple necklaces, we also have bracelets that incorporate all three popular jewellery metals. If you’re looking for a stylish and balanced mix of rose gold, yellow gold and silver, then we have some items in our collection that will effortlessly suit your style and taste.
